Koi Carp and Dragonfly

In the foreground a beautiful illustration of a Crown Imperial (Fritillaria imperialis) made by the Belgian painter and botanist Pierre-Joseph Redouté (1759 - 1840). The forest landscape in the background is a detail of the painting "Forest Road", digitally edited by Marja, made in 1650 - 1674 by the Dutch painters Jan Looten and/or Johannes Lingelbach.

A warm, atmospheric, timeless, summery and at the same time autumnal work, with lots of green and yellow.

About the creator

She doesn't like to be in the spotlight, the Dutch digital artist Marja van den Hurk. She much prefers to let her works do the talking.

The creative Marja makes surreal, artistic and often cheerful collages and photo edits. She does this with great pleasure and with just as much respect for the old masters of yesteryear, whose paintings she regularly uses as a basis for her digital works.

Marja's works are very diverse. “I simply can't choose, I just like so many styles and subjects too much!” What all her works have in common is that they are certainly not everyday and that it can be seen that they were made with a lot of love and attention.
