'Frozen' is a mixed media collage painting that perfectly displays the Dutch winter snow and ice landscape. Children skate on natural ice against a background of trees and plants. This artwork takes the viewer into a serene and picturesque environment.
The painting shows a scene that was part of the Dutch culture and heritage for a long time: a group of people who slides gracefully over the ice, creating their movements elegant patterns while skating to the distant horizon.
However, behind this serene beauty is a moving message about the consequences of climate change. With rising temperatures and unpredictable weather patterns, the once deep freezing cold that made this beloved winter activity possible became increasingly scarce.
